Detailed description of Eagle Hills Golf Course

Eagle Hills Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Eagle, Idaho.

Eagle Hills Golf Course first opened for play in 1960 as a nine hole layout. The course was designed by C. Edward Trout. The course was expanded to 18 holes in 1975. The new nine were designed by Bob E. and Robert L. Baldock

Different designers are one of the reasons, topography is the other reason of why the front and back are like night and day difference. The front has hills and OB and the back is flat and wide open. The course has water hazards coming into play on many holes. The greens are undulating and difficult to read. Houses and trees lining most of the fairways.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,410 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,191 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 519 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 124 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 402 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Eagle Hills Golf Course is # 11, a 144 yard par-3. Hole #5, a 171-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot over water to a large green.

WE were in a scramble event with 12 teams and wee thrown off course after 15 holes because leagures were about to start. Lots of un happy players and staff at course didn't seem to care. Had players in town from 8 states fro event. Overall course is nothing special but they want big $$$$ to play on fridays and weekends. Many better courses in Boise valley.

We went golfing for 2 and only paid $33 for 18 holes with cart. This is their weekly special. Staff was friendly and the food with the new chef Eric was excellent We will definitely golf this one again. Very child friendly also which helps when I golf with my daughter.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

This could be an ok course, but it suffers because it is not that well maintained. Add to that slow pace of play and you end up with a course that is over-priced relative to quality of golf experienced at their course.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Worse than average course for the area
